The West Coast Eagles cracked the 65,000 member mark for the first time in the club’s 30-year history today.

The new record shatters the old mark of 61,039 members, which the club achieved last year on the back of its charge to the 2015 AFL grand final.

West Coast general manager – supporter operations Lisa Bradock credited the club’s long-serving fans for helping it notch the record.

“It just shows us how loyal and dedicated our members are, because a large percentage of those members are returning members and have stayed with the club for many years,” Bradock said.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome our new members and we hope they remain with us for just as long, if not longer”

Bradock also praised the efforts of the membership team, who she said worked around the clock to strengthen the blue and gold army.

“The membership team is totally dedicated to making sure that we do the best by our members and meet their needs and requests wherever possible,” she said.

Although she was thrilled to break through the 65,000 member barrier, Bradock said the club would continue its hunt for more members throughout the season’s remaining rounds.

“We know there are still a lot more West Coast Eagles supporters out there and we want them to be a part of our West Coast family.”
