With a tough team to beat in our Round 16 clash, we were eager to name a winner of the Member of the Round competition. This is where Ben Dearden comes into the picture. Ben is a self-proclaimed one eyed eagle fan.

“I am a passionate Eagles fan. I live, breathe, eat, walk and talk Eagles,” Ben proudly expresses.

Ben recalls his Dad introducing him to this sport he now holds close to his heart at a very young age.

“I was taken to my first junior football training by my Dad when I was about 7 or 8 and loved playing footy and everything about footy from then on.

“Football means everything to me.”

Ben is a proud supporter of the West Coast Eagles, and has been a member for the past 10 years, and recently attended our Bronze 10 Year Member Recognition function.

If you were to ask Ben what it is about the game he loves, the answer is quite simple.

“Everything from the nail biters, to the hard hits, the Nic Nat brilliance and of course, the Kennedy dominance.”

Like most fans, Ben admits “it’s the joy of watching the Eagles fly high and entertaining us that I enjoy most of all.”
