West Coast will take pick No.12 into the NAB AFL Draft following its elimination final defeat to the Western Bulldogs las Thursday.
As it stands at present, the Eagles will have picks 12, 30, 48, 66, 84 and 102 at its disposal when it heads to Sydney to bring home its latest crop of young talent.
The club traded its first round pick (No. 17) to Brisbane last year to secure the services of Jack Redden and brought in promising talents Luke Partington, Tom Cole, Kurt Mutimer and Matthew Allen to the club with selections 28, 36, 57 and 62 respectively.
Of those draftees, only Cole managed to crack a spot in the club’s best 22 in season 2016.
The 19-year-old Bendigo product made his debut against Gold Coast in round 10 and held his spot in the team for the Eagles round 11 clash with the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium
Senior coach Adam Simpson has already publicly stated that West Coast will be “aggressive” during the pre-season draft and trade periods as it – first and foremost – goes on the hunt for another ruckman to cover the loss of hit-out specialist Nic Naitanui.
